In July of 1981, I graduated from the University of Alexandria, Egypt, with a Bachelor or Dental Medicine and Surgery Degree. I enrolled in New York Univeristy in September of 1981 in a two year program for foreign trained dentists. During these two years, (1981-1983), I passed Parts I and II of the National Board Dental Examination and the Bench Examination for New York State. I also passed the Clinical Examination for New York State and became licensed to practice dentistry in April of 1984.

While attending New York University and preparing for the National Boards, I was employed by Dr. Jerry Adelson, 200 Central Park South, New York, New York. I assisted him while treating patients under general anesthesia.

After four months with Dr. Adelson, I was employed by Drs. Sanford and Martin Kingsley, One Hanson Place, Brooklyn, New York. Their practice was limited to orthodontics. I worked with them for three years and gained much experience in orthodontics from my association with them.

After leaving the Kingsley's, I began working with Dr. Kenny Sloan, 163rd Street, Bronx, New York, in order to gain confidence and experience as a general practicioner.

In November of 1985, I began a private practice at 42-05 National Street, Corona, New York. I had my practice there for approximately one year and gained much knowledge and experience in dealing with the business aspects of a dental office.

Over the next 11 years, Dr. Akeel has done extensive training on mini implants and Invisalign. He continues to bring modern dentistry to Cville as well as creating new smiles.
